Here are all the food trucks coming to Kingston, Hanover this summer

KINGSTON – Waffles, beer and live music will come together at the Hilltop Athletic Association in Kingston for the return of weekly food truck festivals on Wednesday, April 13.

From 4 to 8 p.m. every Wednesday through the end of October, food trucks will gather at  65 Pottle St. to sell snacks, entrees and drinks to people looking to get outside and support small businesses. 

Katie Keefe, the president of the South Shore Food Truck Association and owner of the Ellie’s Treats ice cream truck, said visitors can expect to see about 10 food trucks, a full cash bar and live music. The association will provide play space and toys for children.

“It will be a perfect space for a picnic,” Keefe said.

Gracie Grace & All The Goodboys will perform on opening night, April 13. A  full schedule of music and other events is  on the South Shore Food Truck Association’s Facebook page.

Food Truck Tuesday will return for the fifth year to Forge Pond Park in Hanover each week from 4 to 7 p.m. starting May 3. Keefe estimated 700 to 2,000 visitors will attend each night. 

“It’s a huge boost for small businesses,” she said.

Away Cafe

What: Away Cafe’s custom-built Freightliner has been serving food on the South Shore and beyond since 2007. The truck provides signature Thai food and American favorites, including sausage, burgers and fried dough.

When: Tuesdays in Hanover and Wednesdays in Kingston.

Ellie’s Treats

What: Weymouth residents Daniel and Katie Keefe named their food truck after their daughter Ellie. They sell ice cream quarts for $6 each and 12-ounce  slushes for $3, as well as other sweet treats such as  sundaes and cotton candy.

When: Tuesdays in Hanover and Wednesdays in Kingston.

Gonzalez

What: Taunton residents Maryanna Paiva and Wanderson Gonzalez serve fresh Mexican food, such as veggie tacos for $8, chips and guacamole for $11 and the loaded Gonzalez burrito for $14. 

When: Tuesdays in Hanover and Wednesdays in Kingston. 

Joe’s Eats & Treats

What: Avon residents Joe Donahue and Linda Anne serve American-style comfort food from their food truck,  including hot sub sandwiches such as the classic meatball with provolone, and steak and cheese with peppers and onions.

When:  Wednesdays in Kingston. 

Loco Larry’s Tacos

What: Established in Halifax in 2020, Loco Larry’s Tacos was a dream come true for owner Larry, who was forced to close his auto detailing business in Boston amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The taco truck has a full menu of Mexican fare including burritos, quesadillas, nachos and churros that range in price from $3 to $15.

When:  Tuesdays in Hanover and Wednesdays in Kingston.
