The online reservation service put together its list of the top 100 brunch restaurants by compiling nearly 13 million reviews from verified diners, the April 20 report said. The unranked list features eight Texas restaurants, the third highest for any state represented.
Al Biernat’s at Oak Lawn in Dallas boasts much more than steakhouse fare, the restaurant’s OpenTable page says. Mother’s Day diners can enjoy a variety of seafood as well, with six options of fresh fish available each day, along with an extensive wine list.
Kenny’s Wood Fired Grill has a stellar 4.8 OpenTable review with nearly 7000 reviews and a “well-rounded menu” focused on American classics to boot. According to the Dallas restaurant, it emulates a 1940’s Chicago chophouse “with a classy, relaxed and warm atmosphere featuring the finest wood grilled seafood and meats.”
Toulouse, Knox Street aims to be a classic French bistro in Uptown Dallas that specializes in classic cuisine with a “posh” atmosphere. Brunch menu offerings include classic beignets, mussels and soufflés that are “worth the price,” according to one reviewer. Mother’s Day celebrants in Houston and Plano can also get a taste of what Toulouse has to offer with locations in those two cities.
In Houston, brunchgoers can enjoy a meal in B&B Butchers & Restaurant in the historic Dittman building. Brunch offerings, which can also be found in the B&B Butchers’ Fort Worth location, showcase unique takes on classics, like a Butcher’s Benedict, gorilla bread and a B&B hash that includes prime rib hash browns topped with thick-cut bacon.
Brasserie Mon Chou Chou in San Antonio spotlights laidback, simple French cuisine “with an emphasis on simple, flavorful dishes — from steak frites to oysters to Coq Au Vin,” the restaurant says. Breakfast fare features traditional French options that include omelettes, croque madame and a baguette French toast topped with whipped cream and fresh fruit.
San Antonio offers another favorite brunch option in Cappy’s Restaurant, which serves innovative American specialties. Weekend brunch showcases a jumbo lump crab cake, seasonal fresh seafood options and a classic Texan pot roast.
CraftWay Kitchen in Plano boasts “craveable dishes” to dig into on Mother’s Day, including chicken and waffles, breakfast tacos and a bacon and egg burger.
Etoile Cuisine Et Bar is another Houston eatery to make the top 100 list and aims to create an “inviting, warm European environment where both traditional and seasonal French food are front and center.” Looking to get rid of the pretentious association in French cuisine, the restaurant offers a vanilla brioche French toast, a breakfast spin on ratatouille and a number of omelette options to enjoy.
